No Greer County 24-Hour Release Feed
The Greer County Sheriff does not publish an official list of people released during the last day. The sheriff's inmate search expressly covers people who are in custody now. It sorts booking-side records by booking date and may show a name, charge details, booking information, and an image area. It has no release tab, one-day filter, release time, disposition, destination, archive, stated update cycle, or retention window. Calling that roster a same-day release list would reverse its stated purpose.
A missing name is not a final result. The sheriff warns that the system may be updating and points a failed searcher to VINE to learn whether the person may have been released or transferred. A transfer closes the Greer booking but may start custody at an Oklahoma Department of Corrections facility, another county jail, or a federal or immigration agency. The exact closing event matters.

Check Greer County Same-Day Releases
A one-person check and a request for the full day's releases are different tasks. For one named person, identity and the final event can be matched across systems. For a date-wide list, the Greer County Records Division must first determine whether an existing release log or set of booking closures can be produced. Oklahoma's access law does not require the sheriff to design a new database report when no such record exists.
- Search the official Greer roster by name and note the time of the check. A match supports current custody, not a future or past release.
- When no match appears, search the Oklahoma VINE person route. Compare the reporting agency, age or birth information, and any identifier shown.
- Read the Greer case in ODCR, or the separate Mangum Municipal Court channel for a city matter. Look for bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, warrant, or transfer entries.

Terms should remain precise. Bond is conditional release before the case ends. Time served concerns custody credit in the matter but may not clear another hold. Dismissal is a court disposition, not proof that no other case exists. Transfer means one agency's custody ended while another agency's custody began.
Greer County Bond Release Paperwork
A same-day exit on bond has two linked records. The court or bondsman paperwork establishes the legal basis, while the Greer County Jail closing event establishes when physical custody ended. The sheriff's bondsmen instructions say a bond must be completed correctly, notarized, and carry case numbers after filing. Defective paperwork may not be accepted or approved, and the sheriff warns that a defect can expose the defendant to re-arrest.
That local rule makes a filed bond an incomplete answer. Check the case number against ODCR, then request or confirm the jail's final event. Bond does not mean acquittal, dismissal, time served, or sentence discharge. It is conditional pretrial release, and the case remains subject to court orders. Another warrant or hold can also delay the physical exit even after the bond step is complete.

Request Greer County Daily Release Records
The Greer County Sheriff Records Division accepts requests in person at 105 S. Pennsylvania Ave. in Mangum, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or by email at administration@greercountysheriff.org. The public form asks for a record description, personal or business-use selection, requester name, mailing address, and telephone. Answer the form as written and ask for existing material.
For a day-wide request, identify the date and exact boundary: “Please provide any existing release log or booking-closure records for Greer County Jail from [start date and time] through [end date and time]. Electronic copies are preferred. Please advise of cost before fulfillment.” For one person, add full name, date of birth if known, booking date, and case number. Ask for the admission and release time, disposition, and destination if transferred.
The records page states that some reports may be emailed and others may require a subpoena. Its free first-copy rule applies to an incident report for a victim who appears with acceptable identification, not to every release log. No fixed booking-closure fee, response period, or retention term is published. Oklahoma's Open Records Act calls for prompt, reasonable access and permits reasonable direct copying costs, but it does not turn the roster into a release archive.
Greer County Roster Release Branch
The sheriff's phrase “released or transferred” creates the proper branch after a roster no-result. VINE can report a custody change from a feeding agency, while the court can show the legal order behind it. Neither necessarily supplies the exact gate time and destination. A current roster observation, VINE event, court entry, and sheriff closing record answer different parts of the same question.

- The facility reported that its custody ended. The term alone does not always state where the person went.

- Greer custody closed because another agency received the person. Confinement may continue.
- Discharged
- A sentence or supervision record reached its recorded end. This differs from leaving one jail booking.

If the handoff is to Oklahoma State Reformatory or another state site, use ODOC Offender Lookup and sentence rows. A county booking does not become a state-prison discharge record. Federal BOP, USMS, and ICE systems likewise cover their own custody, not a Greer community release.

Greer County Release App Limits
The sheriff's official app page advertises inmate records, booking details, recent arrests, alerts, news, and wanted-person information. It does not advertise a released-inmate view. At research time, the Google Play and Apple destinations were blank and hidden in the page markup, so no usable official download path could be confirmed. A marketing reference to booking data must not be converted into a claim that the app supplies today's releases.

Even if store links later return, inspect the live app before relying on it. Confirm that a release view exists, what event it displays, and when it updates. The sheriff's news and official social profile may document a specific incident, but neither was found to contain a systematic same-day release archive.
Confirm Greer County 24-Hour Releases
Use the source that owns the last event. Greer County Jail records confirm its booking closure. ODOC confirms state custody, parole implementation, or discharge. VINE supplies status alerts but is not a permanent 24-hour archive. ODCR explains the district-court case, while Mangum Municipal Court handles its separate city docket. BOP, USMS, and ICE apply only when a transfer or known case points there.
A sound result is narrow and dated: the person was not on the Greer current roster at the time checked; VINE reported a named event from a stated agency; and the sheriff record or receiving custodian confirmed the final custody action. Avoid replacing that evidence with the broad claim that someone is free. The details may show conditional bond, a transfer, continuing supervision, or another hold.
